YH giving away your data

Do you know YH has "shared" your rent payment records with a private company called Experian? This is supposed to help your credit rating - if you have been a regular payer. This was unilateral decision taken by YH without consultation. A single vague letter was issued to announce this, without any information about opting out. Your data is your property and the legality of this " sharing" under the Data Protection Act is moot.

Your data is your property and is not there to be appropriated by your landlord. You can't share what you don't own. Tell YH you have not given them permission and to withdraw the data. I did this but since I received no formal acknowledgement I can't be sure.
